Submission Guidelines for New Creators

Please send questions regarding these guidelines and other media considerations to content@littlstar.com.

Uploading

Before uploading your media for consideration, check to ensure that your file meets our encoding guidelines, found below. Then, after logging in to your account at littlstar.com, use our upload submission form to deliver your content to us. Once we have successfully processed your video upload, we will send an email notification to the address registered with your Littlstar account.

Forward your notification email to content@littlstar.com indicating that you'd like it to be published on Littlstar. A member of our content team will reach out to you once we have fully assessed the content and its adherence to our media encoding guidelines.

Media Encoding Guidelines

General Video Requirements

Container Files: .mp4, .mov, .avi, .mkv

Accepted Codecs: H.264 (Please do not deliver H.265/HEVC video)

Bit Rate: 10 Mbps or greater

Resolution: At least 1920x1920

H.264 Profile: Main or High

H.264 Level: 4.0 or greater

Display Aspect Ratio: 2:1 (monoscopic) 1:1 (stereoscopic)

Accepted Color Space: YUV 8-bit

Preferred Y'UV Subsampling: 4:2:0

General Audio Requirements

Accepted Formats: PCM, AAC (LC or HEv1 profiles), (E)-AC3, FLAC

Channel Configurations: Stereo, BinauralAmbiX

Sampling Frequency: 48Khz, 96kHz

Compressed Audio Bit Rate: 128 kbps or greater

Please ensure that there are no True Peaks in the audio stream. Check out iZotope's blog post for more information.

Ambisonic Audio

Some Littlstar players support full-sphere first order ambisonic audio mixes, generally referred to as AmbiX. In order to utilize this feature, please render your spatial mix according to the following specifications listed in the below table:

Additionally, please adhere to the following ambisonic audio requirements:

  • Ambisonic mixes must be delivered as separate four-channel PCM WAV audio files, with the following traits:
    • 16 bit depth
    • 48kHz sampling rate
  • All submissions containing an ambisonic audio mix must also have a stereo audio track, to serve as a fallback mix for those devices which do not support directional audio.

Content Guidelines

Camera Movement

Try to limit camera movement to strictly forward motion. Rotation, changes in height, and lateral movement cause cybersickness faster than forward motion.
