Littlstar’s content submission workflow offers a variety of upload channels, flexible file formatting requirements, and broad quality standards.

The New Submissions upload tool is a web application which helps creators in constructing a Media Submission Package. It will be available for all content partners to use Q1 2020. Until then, we are happy to ingest/pull your assets from the cloud storage service and/or hard drive courier already in use by your organization.

Submission Approval

In order to submit premium content to Littlstar, we ask that you update a couple of settings on your Littlstar account. Please ensure the following settings have been updated:

• Your account’s profile avatar has been set

Profile Avatars

Avatars are square images which display the official logo/branding of the account owner.

Media Submission Package

At Littlstar, a fully complete media submission package contains all of the assets necessary to publish one piece of content.

Please make note of all video, audio, subtitle, and container requirements, listed below. (NOTE: We accept assets in both muxed and unmuxed format.)

Accepted Formatting

We offer users a number of distinct video experiences, ranging from traditional television programs to fully-immersive 360 videos and virtual reality experiences. Each of these entryways into Littlstar present their own set of requirements and each offer different kinds of media codec and feature support. We have summarized these below for both regular video and 360 video.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend submitting the very highest-quality, closest-to-raw version of your content as possible. Mezzanine video submissions allow us to re-format your content for other types of viewing environments as they become available to the broader industry - delivering you greater opportunities for our users to consume your content.

The preferred way to provide content metadata to Littlstar is to bake it into the content container file itself - we support all standards in wide use for MP4/MOV.

In addition, we accept content metadata in the following consumer-level formats:

Banners

The main key art for the piece of content. This is the horizontal cover image that will be shown to users in Littlstar’s app UIs. (Note: The same banner cannot be used more than once, as it causes confusion for the user.)

Premium Avatars

Premium avatars are assets shown only by our premium content partners, and only within VR & TV apps. They are 16:9 images which display the official logo/branding of the account owner.
